Material Character

A decorative jade-type natural stone characterised by broad crystalline cream bands, smoky grey mineral zones, dark dendritic markings and warm rust-toned inclusions.

A layered decorative stone with crystalline cream, smoky grey and warm rust-toned mineral zones, selected for its unusually graphic cross-section and mineral depth.

Unlike travertine, BLACK DRAGON JADE is not defined by open pores or sedimentary cavities. Its visual character comes from broad translucent-looking crystalline bands, fine dark dendritic markings, irregular grey mineral seams and warmer iron-toned inclusions. Each cut can shift markedly in colour balance and pattern, making slab and block selection an important part of the design process.

Stone & Light

Light Transmission Localized translucency · Selected areas transmit light

OYLIN's current light test shows localized translucency: only selected areas of the tested sample transmitted light, while denser zones remained opaque. The effect is therefore suited to controlled accent or backlighting only after the actual piece, thickness and light source have been reviewed. Uniform transmission should not be assumed.

Pattern Selection

Pattern distribution varies strongly across the material. Cream crystalline zones, smoky grey bands, dark dendritic markings and rust-toned inclusions may appear in very different proportions from one cut to another. The actual project material should therefore be reviewed and approved before fabrication.

Final suitability depends on the selected piece of stone, thickness, cut direction, support, fixing method, scale and fabrication requirements. Exterior, wet-area or structural use should not be assumed without project-specific technical review.

Availability & Selection

Current block or slab availability is confirmed before quotation. Because the pattern varies significantly, photographs or video of the proposed material should be reviewed before production.

Physical sample availability is confirmed separately. A sample establishes the material direction but does not guarantee that a full project batch will repeat the same banding or inclusion pattern.

Share the intended use, dimensions, quantity and destination. OYLIN checks current sourcing and confirms the proposed material before quotation.

Care & Natural Variation

Clean with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner appropriate to the approved finish. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners. Because mineral zones may differ in hardness and porosity, the final care recommendation should be confirmed against the selected material and finish.
