SPECIFICATIONS & DELIVERABLES

Technical resources for project teams

A technical resource for architects, interior designers, lighting designers, BIM managers and project teams specifying OYLIN natural-stone lighting.

What OYLIN delivers

  • Rhino 3DM model — organised layers for stone, brass, LED and fasteners.
  • AutoCAD DWG — assembly drawings and joint details.
  • KeyShot renders — off-state and 2700K/3000K intent, supplied in 2–4 project-relevant angles.
  • Material & Light Map — selected-stone records plus printed optical references. Transmitted-light studies apply to translucent calcite; travertine and marble records document surface, carving, finish and reflected light.
  • Photometric IES file — supplied according to the selected LED module.
  • Shop Drawing package after deposit — Bill of Materials, unroll patterns, assembly details and production tolerance of ±1 mm.

Deliverables are coordinated to the approved project scope. File issue dates and formats are confirmed in the project quotation.

Material logic

Translucent calcite stone is OYLIN’s principal natural optical stone for illuminated shades and suspended panels. It is validated at 1:1 scale with the selected batch, thickness, backing and LED distance.

Travertine and ordinary marble are specified for table-lamp bodies, bases and sculptural components. Their documentation covers reflected light, surface movement, carving and structural connection; translucency is not claimed.

BIM policy

Revit families are not published publicly. Upon drawing approval, OYLIN produces a project-specific RVT family (LOD 200–300, self-illuminated material + mounted IES) for your BIM manager. Conversion from our Rhino source is handled per-project. A generic reference block is available on request.

Lead times

  • Sample Box — 7–10 business days by international air freight.
  • Concept board — 5 business days, including one revision.
  • Shop Drawings — 5–7 business days after concept sign-off.
  • Production — 60–75 business days after approved Shop Drawings.
  • Typical programme — approximately 10–12 weeks from initial project dialogue to drawing sign-off, followed by 60–75 business days for the build.

Timings are estimates and exclude client review, additional revisions, public holidays, international transit, customs clearance and events outside OYLIN’s reasonable control.

Process

  1. Bespoke inquiry. Submit project location, programme, approximate dimensions, quantities, mounting conditions, preferred stone direction, colour temperature and drawings or references through the Bespoke Inquiry form.
  2. Concept retainer. A USD 300 concept retainer starts the design study and includes one concept direction and one revision. It is non-refundable once work begins and is credited to the first qualifying commission.
  3. Concept sign-off. OYLIN confirms material direction, light intent, key dimensions and the preliminary technical approach.
  4. Shop Drawings and deposit. Shop Drawings are normally issued 5–7 business days after concept sign-off. A 30% production deposit is due with written drawing approval unless the quotation states otherwise.
  5. Production reservation. After approved Shop Drawings and cleared deposit, the commission becomes final and non-refundable and enters the 60–75 business-day Made to Order cycle.
  6. Final coordination and delivery. The accepted quotation defines balance payment, inspection, crating, freight, DDP/DDU terms, duties, VAT/GST, installation responsibilities and technical-file issue.

Technical responsibility

OYLIN files communicate product and design intent. The project’s licensed architects, engineers, electricians, lighting designers, installers, BIM managers and code consultants remain responsible for local compliance, site verification, calculations, coordination, permits and safe installation.
