Geological Origins & Scientific Craftsmanship
The OYLIN Material Bible
OYLIN rejects all synthetic homogeny and mass-produced resins. We work exclusively with natural stones, unlacquered metals, and organic fibers shaped by geological millennia and human touch.
Roman Tivoli Travertine (蒂沃利黄洞石)
"The Geological Breath — 石头在热泉中呼吸的规则印记"
1. Geological Formation & Origin
Quarried from geothermal travertine deposits in Tivoli (Rome, Italy) and Isfahan (Iran). Formed as calcium-bicarbonate rich thermal spring waters gushed to the surface, rapidly releasing carbon dioxide and depositing layers of mineralized calcite ($CaCO_3 > 95\%$). Micro-iron oxide seepage over geological epochs imbues the stone with its signature warm champagne hue.
2. Physical & Engineering Parameters
3. Craftsmanship & EN 1504-2 Sealing Specification
We strictly reject the commercial practice of slurry-filling cavity holes with colored synthetic resin. OYLIN leaves the natural pores open to maintain architectural shadow depth. Each piece undergoes EN 1504-2 breathable semi-encapsulated ceramic nano-sealing, protecting the surface against oil and moisture stains while preserving the tactile, cool sandiness of raw stone.
Spanish Alabaster (西班牙雪花石)
"Crystalline Light Translucency — 白垩纪地层的光影云雾"
1. Geological Formation & Origin
Extracted from Cretaceous sedimentary basins in Aragon and the Ebro River valley, Spain. Classified as ultra-pure micro-crystalline gypsum ($CaSO_4 \cdot 2H_2O$). The fine, interlocking crystal lattice gives Spanish alabaster its world-renowned translucent opacity—resembling frozen clouds suspended in ice.
2. Physical & Critical Thermal Red Line
⚠️ Technical Red Line: Curing Thermal Envelope
Because alabaster contains bound hydration water, exposure to continuous temperatures exceeding 50°C causes irreversible crystal dehydration, turning the stone chalky white and brittle. OYLIN custom-engineers low-wattage DC LED engines with 10mm convective air gaps to ensure internal stone temperatures never exceed 40°C.
Carrara White Marble (意大利卡拉拉白大理石)
"Apuan Alpine Metamorphism — 侏罗纪海洋灰岩的重结晶变质"
Quarried in the Apuan Alps of Tuscany, Italy. Formed as Jurassic marine limestone underwent extreme tectonic pressure and thermal metamorphism, crystallizing into high-density calcite ($2.7 ext{ g/cm}^3$, Shore Hardness 50–55). Featuring delicate feather-gray *Venato* veining, each block is precision CNC-machined to sub-0.2mm tolerance for seamless interlock with solid brass armatures.
Native Unlacquered Solid Brass (原生无漆黄铜)
"The Witness of Touch — 玥之时间印记与自然包浆 (Living Patina)"
Crafted from solid H62 brass alloy (59–63% copper content). We strictly refuse to apply artificial anti-oxidation clear lacquer coatings. When leaving our studio, the brass displays a hand-brushed satin champagne luster. As you interact with the fixture over seasons, skin oils and atmospheric oxygen develop a deep, rich antique brown patina—recording your life, touch, and the passage of time inside a Living Heirloom.
Belgian Natural Flax Linen (比利时天然亚麻)
"Photometric Warmth — 3000K 漫反射物理柔光罩"
Grown in the maritime climate of Flanders, Belgium. Natural uneven slubs and unbleached flax fibers form a tactile, earthy weave. High microscopic porosity renders Belgian linen the ultimate diffuser for 2700K–3000K light engines, softening hard stone shadows and imbuing residential spaces with quiet tranquility.
VI. Stone Care & Preservation SOP (材质养护 SOP)
Maintaining your heirloom luminaire for generations.
1. Daily Dusting Protocol
Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth or soft natural-bristle goat-hair brush. Never use high-pressure air dusters or harsh abrasive sponges on honed travertine or soft alabaster.
2. Chemical Cleaning Red Lines
Calcite stones ($CaCO_3$) and gypsum alabaster are vulnerable to acid etching. Never clean with citrus solvents, vinegar, ammonia, or bleach. Use only pH-neutral stone soap diluted in distilled water.
3. Brass Patina Preservation vs. Restoration
Allow brass to oxidize naturally for antique depth. If you wish to restore the initial bright satin champagne luster, apply micro-fine Renaissance Wax once annually with a soft lint-free cotton cloth.
