Obsidian Vein Marble is OYLIN's designation for a premium cut of Black Marquina-style marble, selected for its absolute black density and the sharp, unpredictable beauty of its white veining.
Its character is defined by absolutes. The background is not merely dark; it is a dense, impenetrable black. The veins are not soft or blended; they are sharp, stark, and highly crystalline. These veins tell the story of ancient tectonic forces that fractured the dark rock, allowing mineral-rich waters to deposit bright white calcite into the fissures.

Obsidian Vein Marble is a natural geological material. The frequency, thickness, and direction of the white veining will vary drastically. Some pieces may feature a dense web of white lines, while others may be almost entirely black with only a single, subtle fracture. OYLIN does not attempt to eliminate these differences. We select and craft around them. That individuality is part of what makes natural stone worth preserving.
